Your first visit

Your first visit

Everything to expect before, during and after your first session — including the part about safety we’d rather you read twice.

  1. Register before you arrive

Create your Tan Peaks account online and complete the New Customer Agreement from your phone. You can also do it at the counter on your first visit — it just takes a few minutes longer.

  2. What check-in looks like

Give us your name at the counter. We confirm your paperwork, take a quick photo for your account if we don’t have one yet, and get you to a bed. An acceptable photo on file is required before any session.

  3. Protective eyewear — required

FDA-compliant protective eyewear is required for every UV, hybrid and red-light session. Bring your own or pick up a pair at the counter; closing your eyes is not enough.

  4. Choosing your session

Tell us about your skin and your experience. Our team helps you choose between lay-down UV, stand-up UV, hybrid or red light and a session length that fits — we never sort beds into “levels,” and your first UV session is kept short.

  5. Lotion

Indoor tanning lotion is made for indoor use; outdoor sunscreen and oils are not allowed in the beds. Ask us about bronzer or no bronzer, tingle or no tingle, and after-care — we match a lotion to your skin and your session.

  6. UV, hybrid, red light and stand-up

UV and hybrid sessions tan; a hybrid session adds red light in the same bed and still counts as a UV session. Red light alone involves no UV. Stand-up is a UV session you take standing. UV and hybrid sessions are limited to one per day, 18 hours apart; red light is up to one per day.

  7. Safety — read this

Indoor tanning is not risk-free. UV exposure can damage skin, cause burns and premature aging, and increases the risk of skin cancer. If you take medication that increases light sensitivity, or have a skin condition, talk with your healthcare provider before tanning. A parent or guardian’s signed consent is required before anyone under 18 can tan, and no one under 14 may tan.

Four ways to glow

Pick your light.

UV, hybrid, red light or stand-up — our team helps you choose. No “levels,” no guesswork.

UV Tanning

Traditional lay-down UV tanning.

Our most popular way to tan: lie back in a lay-down UV bed. Our team helps you choose a session length that fits your skin and your experience — we never sort beds into “levels.”

Stand-Up UV Tanning

A UV session you take standing.

A stand-up booth tans while you stand, with nothing to lie against. Many people choose it for an even all-around session or when they prefer not to lie down.

Hybrid Tanning

UV and red light in one session.

A hybrid bed pairs UV lamps with red-light lamps in the same session. Because it includes UV, a hybrid session is a UV session and follows the same daily limit and spacing rule.

Included with Glow Getter

Red Light

Dedicated red light — no UV at all.

Our dedicated red-light bed is separate from our UV equipment. A red-light-only session involves no UV tanning. We make no medical claims about red light; if you have a health question, talk with your healthcare provider.

Included with Red RebelGlow Getter

UV exposure — indoors or outdoors — can damage skin and increases the risk of skin cancer. Protective eyewear is required for every UV, hybrid and red-light session, and UV and hybrid sessions follow our 18-hour spacing rule.
